What is a perpetual license?

A perpetual license means you can keep using the version of Magnetron you bought, for as long as you like. It does not expire, and you do not need an active subscription to keep using that licensed version.

Your license is linked to a specific major version of Magnetron. When you buy a license, you also get one year of free updates from the date of purchase. During that year, you can install any new versions that are covered by your update period.

After the update year ends, your license still works. You can continue using the latest version that was released within your update period. Newer versions released after that may require a license renewal or upgrade.

So in short: buy once, keep using it. Updates are included for the first year, and after that your license remains valid for the versions covered by your license.

One thing to keep in mind: if you update your operating system and your older version of Magnetron no longer runs properly on it, you may need to update Magnetron as well. If that newer Magnetron version is outside your license’s update period, a renewal or upgrade may be required.
